Illustrated Book, 2019
What if you could rid yourself of all your sorrows and regrets? What if you could throw them out to sea?
"Every ten years, on the first day of summer, the people of the village gather themselves and set out on a journey to the great cliffs far to the east. It is a tradition that stretches back far longer than recorded history. Its origin remains uncertain. When asked, most villagers would claim that it had simply always been done, since the beginning of days."
Brenna's Tale is an illustrated book created as the final project for my MA. It tells the story of a fictional pilgrimage, told through fragmented narratives from multiple voices. The book itself is a hand-bound cloth-covered hardback with a hand-embossed dust jacket.
